A Study of Students´ Behavior in the Clinical Practice of Nursing for the Clinical Nursing Education

Abstract
|
|
|
The purpose of this study is to improve the clinical nursing education.
So, after the study of the changes of the philosophy of nursing, today´s objective of clinical nursing education, the course of the clinical nursing practice and the instructions qualifications, the behaviors of 240 students attending Kyungi College of Nursing, SNU. Department of Nursing and Inchon College of Nursing on the clinical practice of nursing had been surveyed.
The result is as follow:
I) Most of the students are not satisfied with the clinical practice of nursing.
2) Their philosophical attitudes on nursing are not yet established.
3) Most of students are not satisfied with the instructions and its methods.
4) They have good interpersonal relationship with doctors and nurses, but poor
communication skill with their patients.
5) The lack of adequate clinical teaching facilities and teaching method presented problems in the students clinical education.
6) The evaluation method of students on the clinical practice of nursing was not made reasonable.
As the conclusion, the recommendations are as follows:
I) Clinical instructor and head nurse must have meeting frequently and explain
for the students) the same contents and educational courses between them.
2) Through the ward class or conference to help the student establish their
philosophy of nursing and the view of nursing value.
3) In clinical nursing situation, to supplement and training the students communication skill.
4) The reasonable method of clinical practice evaluation must be researched.
